Description
Several exhibitions from the collection were for the purposes of charitable events or promoting cultural awareness. Examples of this are the Hudson Fulton Celebration to celebrate the anniversary of the discovery of the Hudson River and the invention of the Fulton paddle steamer, World War I Charity Exhibitions to provide a relief fund for families of French soldier artists, and the American-Scandinavian Society’s exhibition to promote America’s awareness of Scandinavian artists and their work.
