Examples of this are the Hudson Fulton Celebration to celebrate the anniversary of the discovery of the Hudson River and the invention of the Fulton paddle steamer, World War I Charity Exhibitions to provide a relief fund for families of French soldier artists, and the American-Scandinavian Society’s exhibition to promote America’s awareness of Scandinavian artists and their work.
